Kristi Nadler is an emergency management specialist with more than twenty-five years of experience. She began her career in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1991 and after 24 years of service, she retired in October 2015. Working her way up through the ranks, Kristi has experience with search and rescue; law enforcement; port, waterways, and coastal safety and security; and emergency management operations both at the field level and in the decision-making role. She was also on the Secretary of Homeland Security’s staff in the Office of the Military Advisor providing guidance to senior officials for both U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Defense operations.

With a love for emergency management and standardization, Kristi began her new adventure in 2015 within local government emergency management programs and fit perfectly into the role of the accreditation manager working toward accreditation from the EMAP. Kristi’s career took a slight turn after Hurricane Irma when she was primarily focused on recovery operations. Being from Naples, Florida, she took a contract position as a long term recovery and grant consultant working with the local non-profits providing recovery support to families in Collier County.

Kristi holds a Bachelor’s in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland University College and Master’s in Homeland Security with a concentration in Emergency Management from the American Military University. Kristi enjoys boating, the beach, and spending time with her husband and their two Siberian Huskies, who yes, also enjoy the boat and beach!

Kristi joined ASMI in 2020.
