Program Manager, Meeting Planner

Michelle is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and uses her comprehensive knowledge of meetings management to enhance the experiences of ASMI clients. PEMA uses her skills as their meetings manager. Michelle is IAEM’s meeting logistics manager, handling contracts with facilities and hotels, and management of all meeting logistics, such as food and beverage, AV, and room needs. Michelle is one of ASMI’s pandemic compliance officers having successfully completed in 2021 the “Pandemic Compliance Advisor Course for Meeting Industry Professionals” with Health Education Services.Prior to employment with ASMI, Michelle worked for the State Department (refugee affairs advisor), USAID (program manager), Boston University , several non-profits, and operated a catering business for 13 years, as well as serving as a pastry cook at a Ritz Carlton Hotel. She has a B.A. in Anthropology/ Archaeology from the University of Arizona and has completed graduate studies in Social Anthropology at Boston University. Michelle earned the Certified Meeting Planner certification in 2012. In 2014, she earned the Certified Virtual Event Planner designation from ICohere Academy. In 2015, Michelle became a Digital Event Strategist by successfully completing the DES certificate program. She has Professional Culinary Arts Certification and Professional Pastry Arts Certification. She joined ASMI in 2007.
