Management Firm

ASMI is a professional association management firm established in 1984 as a wholly-owned corporation in the state of Virginia.  DUNS # 13-222-2589, TIN # 54-1270048.  ASMI employs 30+ association management professionals to staff its clients, with expertise in all facets of not-for-profit organization (governance and structure, Federal contracts management, finance, meetings, publications, certification and more.)

Communications

Telephone - The headquarters Executone telephone system features 40 incoming lines and 9 out-bound lines; this capacity eliminates the possibility of a busy signal for customers.  It features an InfoStar™VX2 Voice Processing System with conference calling, patching, automated answer greeting and other options.  ASMI uses the digital display system to personalize the reception according to which association is being called.

Internet - ASMI uses a T1 line for Internet access, and Microsoft Outlook for email.

Facsimile - There are four plain-paper fax machines in the building; several can be programmed to "fax-blast" broad-cast to multiple recipients.

Computer Systems

ASMI operates on a networked server, with technology upgraded on a regular schedule.

All computer systems are automatically fully backed-up nightly, with tapes changed daily.  The Friday back-up tapes are stored off-site and cycled monthly.  ASMI uses Veritas Back-up Exec software and a DDS4 tape drive.  The back-up system is supervised by a Senior Network Engineer, out-sourced from American Technologies Services, Inc.

Electronic records are created, filed, indexed, stored and maintained using a standard system of file folders on a networked server.  ASMI uses a color-coded system for hardcopy records, assigning each client a particular color.

Mailroom / Publication Production

ASMI maintains an up-to-date mailroom, including a Pitney Bowes U570 mailing machine with postage data-line and accounting features.  To improve efficiency, there is a Martin Yale auto folder which folds more than 1,500 sheets per hour in four variations (half, letter-half, zee, and letter) on five paper sizes (8 1/2 x 11, 8 1/2 x 14, 11 x 17, A4, and A3).  ASMI also has a GBC Docubind P300 which has the capability of binding a 100-page book in three minutes.  There are several high-quality color laser printers in the office, and commercial-grade photocopiers with varying capability, up to 60,000 copies per month and resolutions up to 18000 dpi.
